Terms

Terms of service.

Last updated 2026-04-27

Plain-language terms for using IRISfile. By creating an account you agree to these. Operated by PixelCove LLC.

The service

IRISfile converts 1099 filing data (FIRE / CSV / Excel) into IRS IRIS XML and submits it to the IRS via the A2A API on your behalf. PixelCove LLC is the named Transmitter. You remain the responsible filer for the underlying tax information.

Your responsibilities

  • You provide accurate payer and payee data. We validate schema correctness, not the truth of the underlying numbers.
  • You don’t use IRISfile to file fraudulent or willfully incorrect returns.
  • You keep your sign-in credentials secure. You’re responsible for activity under your account.
  • You hold any required state-level filer registrations or authorizations independently. IRISfile addresses federal IRS submission only in v1.

Billing

  • Subscriptions are monthly, billed via Stripe.
  • The 14-day free trial does not require a payment method upfront. Stripe collects a card before the first paid cycle.
  • You can cancel any time. On cancellation, access continues through the end of the current paid period; we do not prorate refunds.
  • Pricing and tier caps may change. Material price changes get 30 days’ written notice and don’t apply mid-cycle.

Acceptable use

Don’t use IRISfile to: (a) file returns containing data you haven’t been authorized to file, (b) probe, attack, or scrape the service, (c) resell access without a written agreement, (d) violate any law that applies to you or to PixelCove. We may suspend or terminate accounts that do, and we cooperate with valid law-enforcement requests.

Availability + acknowledgements

IRISfile is filing-deadline-critical software. We aim for high availability, but the IRS A2A API and IRS systems are outside our control. Acknowledgements (accepted, accepted with errors, rejected) come from the IRS; we surface them to you as they arrive.

We don’t guarantee acceptance of any specific filing. If the IRS rejects a submission, we surface the rejection and let you correct and refile within the same subscription.

No warranty

The service is provided “as is.” To the extent permitted by law, PixelCove disclaims warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. You’re responsible for keeping copies of source data and filed XML for your own records.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, PixelCove’s total liability for any claim arising out of the service is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We’re not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Disputes go to the state and federal courts located in Travis County, Texas, unless we both agree otherwise.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be posted here with a new “Last updated” date and, where we have your email, sent to you. Continued use after a change means you agree to the updated terms.
